TERMS OF SERVICE
Cyber Range Threat Hunt Platform
Last updated: March 2026
By creating an account, entering a hunt, or using any part of the Cyber Range Threat Hunt platform, you agree to these Terms.
The platform is provided for cybersecurity training, education, and competitive assessment. It is not to be used for unlawful activity.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not access or use the platform.
Accounts are personal and non-transferable. Access is restricted to members of the Cyber Range community.
Account sharing, credential misuse, and unauthorised access attempts are prohibited and may result in suspension or permanent removal.
You are responsible for all activity performed through your account and for maintaining access security.
Registration may require an access code. Access codes are issued through the Cyber Range community and are not to be shared publicly.
Hunts use static scoring. Flag values are fixed regardless of when or how many hunters solve them. Depth and skill are rewarded, not speed.
Each flag has two hints. The first hint is free. The second hint costs points and permanently reduces the maximum score for that flag.
Flag submissions allow up to 50 attempts per flag. The platform has built-in brute force protection.
Tiebreakers are resolved by time of last flag submission. If two hunters have identical scores, the one who submitted their final correct flag first wins.
All-time scores are cumulative across all hunts. Every point earned in any hunt adds to your all-time total.
Prize pools and distribution are announced at the start of each hunt and are subject to change between hunts.
Prize eligibility requires at least one correct flag submission during the hunt window.
Prize distribution may include skill-based placements and random draws from eligible participants.
Prizes may be adjusted or revoked in cases of rule violations, abuse, or fraud.
Hunt scenarios, flag answers, challenge descriptions, hints, telemetry data, and debrief materials are confidential platform content.
You may discuss general concepts and techniques learned during hunts. You may not share specific flag answers, challenge solutions, or investigation walkthroughs while a hunt is active.
After a hunt closes, solution discussion may be permitted at the discretion of the platform administrators.
Unauthorised export, scraping, bulk extraction, redistribution, or re-hosting of platform content is prohibited.
Scenarios are based on real or realistic attack techniques. Commands, indicators, and artefacts represent real attacker behaviour.
Treat all case material as potentially sensitive and operationally dangerous outside controlled environments.
Do not execute, replay, weaponise, or operationalise commands or artefacts outside the approved training context.
You are solely responsible for any misuse of case material outside the platform.
Work independently. Collaboration during active hunts is prohibited unless explicitly stated otherwise.
No automation. Automated solving, flag brute-forcing scripts, and exploitation of platform vulnerabilities are prohibited.
AI tools are permitted. Using AI to help formulate queries or understand techniques is fine. The investigation methodology and query formulation are the skill being tested, not the final answer format.
Violations. Any attempt to manipulate scores, exploit platform mechanics, or gain an unfair advantage may result in disqualification and account suspension.
Platform administrators may monitor activity and may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts to protect users and infrastructure.
Decisions regarding disqualification, prize revocation, and account suspension are at the sole discretion of the platform administrators and are final.
The platform is provided on an as-is, as-available basis.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from platform use, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of prizes, or service interruptions.
The platform is a training and competition environment. It does not constitute professional cybersecurity advice or certification.
These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Material changes will be communicated through the Cyber Range community channels.
